Seamus Tierney—Cinematographer
A distinguished graduate of the American Film
Institute, Seamus spent several years in Hawaii before moving to Australia where he spent the majority of his childhood. In 1996, returning to the states to pursue his film career, Seamus worked his way up the ladder in the lighting department on hundreds of commercials, music videos and feature films. He was the lighting designer for Internationally renowned photographer Steven Klein for three years, creating a look that set a new standard in fashion photography.
Seamus started to gain recognition as a Cinematographer in the late 90.s early 00’s, shooting a student academy award winning short, which was the first in a series of films that won awards from festivals all over the world including Sundance and Cannes.
Seamus’s recent accomplishments include, the Indie Feature “Blood Deep” and the short “Artistic License” (winner of the audience award at the Austin Film Festival). His credits on over 45 short films, and 3 feature Films also include “Movie Theatre Hero, recipient of the 2002 Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmakers Award; and “Codename: Simon” winner of the Angeles Award in 2004.
“The most important thing a filmmaker can do is to try to see the world through someone else’s eyes and hopefully share that with others. If I can somehow be apart of that, even a very small part, then my life’s goals will have been accomplished.” |
